– Schuelke Microshield PVP Povidone Iodine Surgical Handwash is the first step in surgical hand preparation. Surgical hand wash should effectively reduce the release of skin bacteria from the hands of the surgical team through the duration of the surgical procedure
– This is a very important step which helps in reducing bacteria related infections on the patient after a procedure
– It is very effective against bacteria, fungi and virus
– This product has very good skin tolerance and a high level of user acceptance
– The broad spectrum antimicrobial ensures the best surgical hand wash
– Composition:
– Contains Povidone-Iodine 7.5% equivalent to 0.75% w/v (weight by volume) available Iodine
– It comes with emollient and moisturisers to prevent dry skin
– Application areas:
– For Antimicrobial handwashing, take 3.5 ml in wet hands, wash for 30 seconds with water, rinse and dry
– For Surgical handwashing, repeat the above wash for 2 minutes instead of 30 seconds, rinse thoroughly and dry with sterile towel
– For pre-operative body washing and showering
– Precautions:
– Not to be mixed with detergents or other chemicals
– Not to be used in case of known sensitivity against iodine
– To be kept out of eyes and ears and the reach of children
– To be stored below 25 degrees Celsius and away from direct light
– It is meant for broad spectrum fast activity against Gram positive, Gram negative and antibiotic resistant bacteria (including MRSA, VRE, spore forming organisms and food borne pathogens), yeast, fungi and viruses (including HIV-1, Herpes Simplex and Influenza, type A)
