Kit consists of:

  • Valve needle = V (Allows guidewire insertion and aspiration without disconnecting the syringe. Prevents air embolism and excessive blood loss during guidewire insertion)
  • Kink-proof guide-wire with flexible J-tip
  • Omnifix Luer-Lock syringe, 5 ml
  • Cutfix scalpel (The scalpel can be slid back into the housing and blocked to prevent sharps injury)
  • Dilator
  • Four-lumen catheter (Distal = 14 G; Middle 1= 16 G; Middle 2 = 18 G; Proximal =18 G)

  • The Certofix central venous catheters combine excellent manufacturing quality with user appreciated individual components
  • The certofix catheters comes with a highly flexible and resilient guide wire made out of Nitinol. The guide wire characteristics are well suitable for easy advancing through venous obstructions. “J” and straight tip are interchangeable and as such the guide wire direction can be changed.
  • Use of Certofix Protect is associated with significant reduction of blood stream infection (BSI) from 6.5 % to 2 % and from 8.3 to 3.2 / 1,000 Catheter days
  • The group using Certofix Protect underwent less antibiotic therapy
  • The radio-opaque polyurethane catheter, with soft tip, features color-coded lock fittings
  • The antimicrobially modified Certofix Protect prevents microbial colonization and biofilm formation over 30 days
  • The antimicrobial efficacy is proven with typical bacteria and fungi causing CVC associated blood stream infection
  • The catheter is equipped with length markings for accurate catheter placement
  • The CVC catheter has a fixation wing at the channel junction for securing of the catheter
  • The certofix cvc catheter has a protruding, adjustable fixation wing for stitch fixation at the puncture site
