The Intera 1.5T features a new and revolutionary ultra-compact actively shielded superconducting magnet. The extremely lightweight magnet has two superconducting coil sets: the inner set produces the maim magnetic field and the outer set reduces the fringe field outside the magnet to a minimum. Both installation and operation are very cost-effective: the complete system can be installed in a space no greater than 35 square meters. The magnet has a typical helium consumption as low as 0.031/hr for fixed site magnets (between 0.03 1 hr and 0.1 1 hr for mobiles, depending upon transportation conditions).
